Small Business Profile: Camp Bow Wow of Aurora

We had such a great response to our profile of Parkside Animal Health Center in Aurora we decided to focus on another animal-related business.  This November we shine the spotlight on Camp Bow Wow of Aurora. Located in southern Aurora, Camp Bow Wow has only been only for one year but during that time has solidified a reputation as one of the best doggie daycare and dog boarding services in the metro area. They have over 100 reviews on Google with an average of 4.8 stars. That doesn’t account for the piles of other positive reviews they accumulated on other sites.

Camp Bow Wow came on the scene a little over a year ago and quickly became one of the most popular doggie daycares in the area. Owned by Craig and Alex Wilson, they moved to Colorado with some significant business experience! Craig moved to Portugal to be with Alex and opened a coffee shop. They ran the coffee shop for 10 years which helped them understand the ins and outs of running a business. From there, they combined their business experience and their love of dogs to create Aurora’s premier doggie daycare.

But how did they get some many reviews? Simple! They asked! While Google does have guidelines on how businesses can ask for reviews they do not have any issues with business owners simply asking for reviews.

They also focus on offering the best service possible. Craig said, “We asked ourselves what we wanted to see in our most ideal doggy daycare experience. We wanted things like quality webcams, staff the really wanted to be there and a sense of trust. Afterall, we asking people to leave a part of their family with us. That’s no light matter. From there we looked at the businesses in Aurora and asked ourselves if we thought we could do it better. We think we do!”

What Is Drumbeat.INFO?

Drumbeat is a Denver-based online business magazine that reviews local businesses in the Denver, Aurora and the entire metro area. We focus on businesses that we believe are marching to their own drumbeat. Some of what you will find here:

  • What works in Denver, CO? In other words, what are business owners doing to survive in these tough economic times? We focus in particular on unique or off the beaten path approaches.
  • Beating big business profile. We look at a local small business in Denver and Aurora that are beating larger corporate competitors. What are they doing to not only keep up with the big dogs but to actually run ahead!?
  • Networking opportunities. We love to connect Colorado entrepreneurs! We will often host meetups at local coffee shops or other venues where like-minded business owners can share trade secrets or just talk to a friend in business. Our next meetup is focused on veterinary practices (of which there are many in Denver!) and is on July 8th, 2017 at Starbucks on Martin Luther King Blvd.
  • Discounts and special vendor deals. We have speakers that offer special deals and services only available to Drumbeat.info members.

Membership costs $100 a quarter but gets you more than that in information and discounts. As long as you stay up to date and participate, you will get a lot more value than $100 out the program.
